I attended the JDRF Type 1 Diabetes walk a thon in East Hartford CT on 09/20/09. It was a beautiful ceremony, followed by many many people trying to squeeze through the rainbow balloons at the start of the walk. I was impressed to see that there were so many people there, that we had to wait in LINE for 45 minutes before we could officially start the walk.

This was very very good.

There were large groups of people and some who walked alone. Everyone who was there had a purpose and everyone was very upbeat and happy.

It was a very beautiful day and I was very happy to share it amongst people who ACTUALLY DO understand what I'm going through.

I will definitely be attending yet another Type 1 walk shortly. Very rewarding.

*** PS. To the little girl who lapped us three times on her tricycle- "You go, girl!" She had A LOT of energy.
