I'm trying to get more input on this site, to make it one of the sites that ya'll WANT to come to- to check out, look for diabetes updates and to read stories about each other.  For some reason, though, no one is posting anything in the forums, responses to my blogs or submitting their personal stories to me via the Contact Us page.

I'm wondering if maybe the site isn't working properly?  Are you guys having trouble?

What can I do to make this a more interesting place to be?

Thanks for your input.

Marps

We've been getting more site members and that is fantastic! Thanks so much for the new interest!  Please spread the word for us and please feel free to tell me what you would like to see more of on this site!  We can use all the help we can get!

I'd love to get the conversations flowing on the forums.

I'd love input on what types of articles you are interested in seeing on the "In the News" topic

I'd love to know if what we're putting up on the site is helping anyone

Please let me know if there is ANYTHING we can do for you!

Hi  Marps (and all)

I probably shouldn't reply to anything right now, since I'm in a really p-o'd mood. About 3 or 4 weeks ago. I signed up for and received an Insulin pump (my insurance covered the whole thing) and I've had 2 "training" sessions with a nurse/teacher/counselor/whatever. This morning, I attempted to change the reservior, inject the infusion set, etc. (for 45 minutes). I finally disconnected the damn thing and put it back in the box. I'm not dumb, or didn't think I was until now. They can have it back: give me back my needles, please! Ironically, all my Drs. tell me to reduce stress as much as possible, and then they give me this contraption!  So that's it. Maybe I'll wrtie later when I'm in a better mood. Sorry to unload, and thanks for your reply to my previous post.   'Bye for now,

Gary

Gary (DeaconBlues) Congratulations on getting the pump!  Don't let it get you down, change takes time!

What happened to make the resevoir change take 45 minutes?  Was it clogging the tubing?  The insertion site was clogged?  I can help.  I was on the pump for two and a half years before I went back to needles.

Not sure how much of my story you know, but, I started to get really high resistance to short acting insulins a few years ago, so I had to come off the pump because I needed the base of my long acting Levemir.  Long story.

So, I have a lot of experience with pump malfunctions and complications and I even have a lot of reasons for the causes of the malfunctions!  Let me know what I can do to help!
